Durrin Productions, Inc. is an award-winning 23 year old Washington, D.C. film and video company. For more than two decades the firm's production arm has created films and videos independently for broadcast and a wide variety of clients.
Ginny Durrin, the president and owner of Durrin Productions, Inc., has received national and international recognition for her distinctive stylistic documentaries, including a nomination for an Emmy Award.
Her independent films have appeared nationally in prime time on PBS, and have been broadcast on foreign outlets, including the BBC. Her films have been shown at the Edinburgh, Sydney, Melbourne, Shanghai, London, Leipzig, and Munich film festivals.
Durrin's peers have shown their appreciation for her work by nominating for an Academy Award her film, Promises to Keep, the story of the late Mitch Snyder, and his struggle to build a model shelter for the homeless.
Awards include: an Emmy, four Blue Ribbons in the American Film and Video Festival, numerous CINE Golden Eagles, three First Prizes in the National Council on Family Relations Festival, the Woman of Vision Award from Women in Film and Video, and many others.
The distribution side of Durrin specializes in videos for the education, public health and library markets. Durrin films are market leaders. They include Nan's Class, the classic film on natural childbirth; Kevin's Story, Kevin's Story II, and Three Schools: Drug Free, shows for teens on drinking, driving, and substance abuse; The AIDS movie, the highly acclaimed presentation of AIDS and its survivors; 'Til Death Do Us Part, a moving and dramatic production on AIDS for high-risk youth; Double Dutch-Double Jepardy, an AIDS prevention film for young adults; Tobacco Free You And Me, an upbeat tobacco education film for young students; and This Is Your Life Drug Free, an MTV-style video dealing with the effects of marijuana and other drugs.
